I remember aki on our gotcha day. He looked goofy with his hair cut and he was splooting. There was a dog barking so loudly and he kept calm and just side eyed the other dog.
I knew in that moment we'd love him very much. I was hesitant to take him home as for he was given to the shelter because of marking.
Soon as we took him home we fell in love with this dog. I remember him hate being crated. Already knowing how to use the doggy door when we took him home. And no matter what type of contraption we made he always found some sorta way to hop or jump over it.
Nothing worked. In the end, we didn't need any of that as he already was potty trained. Really relaxed. Never barked. Sweetest, kindest, and loving dog. He made my parents love him even though they dislike dogs.
His eyes were soulful as if he's seen too much in his life. His fur was so soft. We really miss him. He was such a perfect dog that we ended up getting him a sister and they were a wonderful pair.
I take comfort knowing that they've been reunited in heaven and that they're both not alone.
